UCP Visits Nightengale Elementary

Jim Williams and Laurie from United Cerebral Palsy of the North Country provided Nightengale School Kindergarten and 3rd grade students’ awareness through two of their educational programs. Their programs, "Kids On the Block" and "Making Friends", provide public education to children to help them learn to understand and accept people with developmental disabilities. The presentations included props like puppets and "helping tools" such as wheelchairs, crutches, white cane, and a guide dog. The age appropriate content captured the attention of our young people and the message was clear, "We are all alike"! Our students at Nightengale enjoyed these shows and learned a lot about acceptance and inclusion. We look forward to them visiting us every year.
